Cuisinart TOB-195 Toaster Oven Broiler
I bought the Cuisinart TOB 195 Toaster Oven at a whopping 58% discount after doing some online research. My name is Stuart Rogers and I’m a single man living in rented accommodation temporarily and although I’m not about to move I wanted to invest in a medium-sized work top oven. One of the beauties, but also the drawbacks, of the Internet is that you can do almost unlimitless research into any product that you wish to buy so, as I expected to be spending around about $300, I started to look at the various products around and to do some comparison testing.
To cut a long story short I finally purchased the Cuisinart TOB-195 Exact Heat Toaster Oven Broiler based on a number of factors. Primarily I was happy with the Cuisinart brand as I already own one of their products; secondly, everywhere I looked this oven received excellent reviews and has been consistently in the top 100 Best Sellers list in Amazon, that itself speaks volumes.
I’ve had the oven for about seven months now and I am more than happy with it. I like well built and designed objects and this is definitely a Rolls Royce. There are a few small things that niggle me but these aren’t big enough to distract from the overall appeal of the oven.
In fact, the only two things that I can think of is that it does not have an interior light, for some odd reason, which hasn’t really presented too much of a problem and also, for another odd reason, the crumb tray actually slides out from the back of the oven which means that you do have to pull it away from the wall to clean it. Other than that I think this has been a five-star buy.
The Cuisinart toaster oven looks like a professional or commercial piece of kitchen ware as it is all stainless steel and this not only makes it look good but exceptionally easy to keep clean and smart looking, despite almost daily use. Having always had a microwave with a Digital control panel I was happy that the oven had that as I find it much easier and accurate to enter times and you can see at a glance exactly how much time is left, the keypad is much easier to keep clean as against a dial to. One thing I will say is that I initially purchased this oven as an oven and not as a toaster and have only tried it a few times with toast and was not overly impressed as it took quite a long time to do the toast and it was slightly unevenly toasted on both sides. However, for larger items it is much better and one of the things that suits me ideally is that it can take a large pizza and the oven itself only takes less than four minutes to achieve its heat. In all honesty if you just want a Toaster then I can’t really see you spending this sort of money on one.
Bearing in mind that this is an oven that is designed to sit on top of a work surface it is not surprising that the oven outer gets very hot indeed, so if you do have young children you should make sure that it is situated out of their reach, as an adult however there are no general problems.
The tray and pan that are supplied with the oven well are sturdy and well made and the only comment I would make is that the pan is convex slightly in the middle, which is a good idea in that it lets juices runaway from anything in the centre of the pan but since you have to to tilt the pan slightly to get it back into the oven there is always the danger of excess fluids splashing over, but it is mainly just a matter of being careful.
All in all, if you’re looking to buy this type of oven I would recommend the Cuisinart very highly indeed, apart from the well-known quality of the brand name the oven is particularly well made, very serviceable and durable and the fact that it is such a bestseller is further proof of its value and quality.
